How many youth have ever had the chance to milk a real cow? This 4-H Animal Science Summer Camp was held in Sheldon, SC on a real farm. The campers learned about farming and animals and their uses. The animals include bees, cows, goats, pigs, and chickens as well as gardening.
The campers got a chance to take care of these animals for the week while making cheese, goat’s milk soap and bees wax lip balm.

Making It Grow 9-30-2014
Clemson Extension Agent and Host Amanda McNulty will be joined on the panel by fellow Clemson Agent Trish DeHond and from The A.C. Moore Herbarium Dr. John Nelson to help answer the live call-in questions. During the show Clemson Extension Water Resources/Carolina Clear Agent Terasa Lott will be will moderate the Making It Grow! Chat Room and the Facebook page while also providing some useful water quality tips. The featured video segment will be a visit to The Sheldon Family Farm & Dairy. The Mansell family raises goats and produces a wide vareity of soap from the goat milk. We visited the farm on day they were hosting a 4H camp.
